Founder’s Day dinner 6 p.m. at the Emmaus Moravian Church, in the outdoor pavilion, Keystone and Main streets, weather permitting. The dinner will be catered by Licensed to Grill and will include typical fare for a dinner of the late 1700s. The Moravian Church has celebrated the church’s anniversary for more than 270 years. The July date was chosen for Emmaus’ Founders Day to coincide with the anniversary of the founding of the Emmaus Moravian Church. The purpose is to enable the community to celebrate this important occasion. The event will serve to highlight the historic Emmaus venues directly related to the founders, including the contributions of Sebastian Knauss and Jacob Ehrenhardt as founding fathers for their donations of the land on which Emmaus exists today.

The program will feature the histories of the 1803 House and the Knauss Homestead. The main speaker will be the Rev. Brian Dixon, pastor of the Emmaus Moravian Church, who will speak on Moravian heritage. There is a cost. To purchase tickets online visit www.the knausshomestead.org or www.1803house.org.
