“The Mystery” continues: Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival’s “The Mystery of Irma Vep: A Penny Dreadful,” continues through July 14, Schubert Theatre, Labuda Center for the Performing Arts, DeSales University. Two fearless actors and a backstage brigade deliver quick changes and hilarity in Charles Ludlam’s gothic spoof of Victorian melodrama. The “tour-de-farce” features an unforgettable cast of characters all played by two actors. Festival favorites Christopher Patrick Mullen, above right, and Brad DePlanche, above left, revive their roles from PSF’s 2007 production, each playing one of the kooky servants and the lord and lady of the house, respectively. Jim Helsinger, PSF veteran actor and director, returns to the director’s chair for the second time with the same cast. Essential to the quick-changes are costumes designed by Lisa Zinni, costume designer for many PSF productions. Tickets: Labuda Center for the Performing Arts lobby box office, DeSales University, 2755 Station Avenue, Center Valley; pashakespeare.org/psf_tickets.php; 610-282-WILL (9455)
