A motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries after his motorcycle and a sports car collided in the intersection of Chestnut Hill Church Road and Shady Drive, Lower Milford Township, July 5.
According to a media release from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center, Shawn Wasiewicz, 45, of Emmaus, was pronounced dead 1:57 p.m. July 5 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest campus.
The cause of death was determined to be multiple traumatic injuries. The manner of death was determined to be an accident, according to authorities.
The driver of the sports car, a 75-year-old male, of Emmaus and his passenger were injured and also were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
According to a media release from Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, troopers were dispatched to the intersection 1:03 p.m. July 5.
Wasiewicz was driving a 2002 Yamaha R1 motorcycle on Chestnut Hill Road while the driver of the sports car, a 1999 Porsche Carrera, was traveling on Shady Lane.
Lower Milford Township Fire Department, Emmaus Ambulance, Select Ambulance and Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Forensics Services Unit also assisted at the scene, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
