Events planned for July
Senior center
Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W Elm St., Allentown, is offering the following programs for seniors in July.
The following groups and DJs will be playing oldies and requests at the Saturday and Wednesday dances, so come out and enjoy the music with your friends.

·July 13, 17: King Henry Duo
·July 20: WE3 Band
·July 27: DJ Jerry Deane
Saturday dances are 7-10 p.m. Wednesday dances are 1-4 p.m. Per person fee includes light refreshments. Singles and couples welcome.
Instructor Trisha Baker will lead an arts and crafts class 9-11:30 a.m. July 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31.
“Friday Drop in Studio Art” led by Dolly Fleischmann will be offered 9-11:30 a.m. July 12, 19 and 26.
Whatever medium you choose, help is available. Both new and advanced students are welcome.
Monday Paint Pouring led by Trisha Baker is scheduled noon to 3 p.m. July 8 and 22.
Make beautiful free form acrylic paintings with this technique. Supplies included.
Diamond Painting led by Trisha Baker is scheduled 2-4 p.m. July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
Diamond Painting is an easy and enjoyable way of relaxing, relieving stress and creating art.
Based on the same concept as mosaics and paint by numbers, diamond painting uses tiny “diamond” like facets to create colorful designs and patterns for finished designs that sparkle.
Acrylic painting led by Judy Peters will be held 9-11:30 a.m. July 3 to Aug. 28.
Learn how to paint beautiful acrylic landscape scenery and subjects with brush techniques on canvas.
Explore color mixing, composition and your individual style painting.
Paint and Wine “Daisies” led by Angela Faidley is scheduled 5:30-7:30 p.m. July 10.
This class is for novices who would like to create their own “masterpiece.”
Price includes materials and wine.
Instructor Sandy Terp will led a Beg Lace Knitting class 1-3 p.m. July 9, 16 and 23.
Learn all the basic stitches and more importantly, how to understand the directions.
Cotton thread will be provided in a selection of sizes.
Needles are available on loan, if needed.
Students must be able to knit and purl.
Thursday Knit and Chat is scheduled 9-11 a.m. July 11, 18 and 25.
Work on a knitting, crochet or embroidered project while enjoying some conversation.
The senior center will show the following movies 12:15 p.m. “Mary Poppins Returns” July 10 and “The Wife” July 24.
Albert P. Heydt will lead a genealogy class 1-4 p.m. July 5, 12, 19 and 26.
