lehigh county da Charges filed against Lower Milford man

District Attorney Jim Martin announced June 27 Steven Oliemuller, 33, has been charged with one count of criminal homicide, a felony of the first degree, in relation to the death of a woman in 2018. Oliemuller is currently incarcerated in Northampton County jail on unrelated charges.

The case was investigated by Trooper Steven Furlong of the Pennsylvania State Police-Troop M and Lehigh County’s Ninth Investigating Grand Jury. The grand jury heard testimony from witnesses presented by Senior Deputy District Attorney Jeffrey D. Burd and Deputy District Attorney Christine F. Murphy and reviewed exhibits before handing up its presentment. The presentment was approved by the Honorable Maria L. Dantos, supervising judge of the grand jury. Dantos has sealed the presentment; thus, no further facts will or can be released.

Oliemuller will be preliminarily arraigned through Northampton County Central Booking. A date for a preliminary hearing will be set; however, the commonwealth will be filing a motion with Dantos seeking to bypass the preliminary hearing.

It is alleged on June 18, 2018, Oliemuller inflicted numerous physical injuries upon Alexus Quay, 20, while the two were the sole occupants of 7245 McFetridge Lane, Lower Milford Township. These injuries, which were to the face, head, back, arms and legs of Quay, allegedly resulted in her death.

Martin commended Furlong, Burd and Murphy for their work on this investigation. He also thanked the grand jury for their service in this case and their service as grand jurors and the sacrifices they made on behalf of the commonwealth and their fellow citizens.

As in every criminal case, the fact an arrest has occurred or a complaint has been filed is merely an accusation; and the defendant, Oliemuller, is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
