Allentown Central Catholic High School’s Baccalaureate Mass was held June 6 at St. Thomas More Parish in Allentown. Many priests from ACCHS’ feeder parishes joined chaplain Fr. Mark Searles in celebrating this mass to recognize the Class of 2019.

The Distinguished Alumni Award was presented during the evening to Greg Kelly (1979), Sheila O’Donnell (1983), and Michael Sweetana (1985).

Central Catholic’s 2019 Graduation Ceremony was held June 7 in Rockne Hall honoring 178 students. The night featured speeches from Principal Randy Rice, Valedictorian Ryan Schanta and Salutatorian Thomas Perun.

Thirty-eight academic awards were presented to the class, including the Nicholas G. Caldarelli Memorial Award and the John B. Longenhagen, M.D., FACP Memorial Award in Biological Science.

Vikette soccer is organizing a summer fundraiser. The team will be selling My Intent Bracelets with four styles to choose from: “Blessed,” “Always Faithful,” “Semper Fidelis” and “ACCHS Vikings.” The bracelets can also be ordered with custom writing (up to 14 characters). ACCHS is now operating on summer hours. The school will be open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Editor’s Note: Michael Fleck graduated from ACCHS as a member of the Class of 2019. He will attend Pennsylvania State University this fall to study nursing.
