A New Tripoli resident is concerned after hearing a loud explosion near her home around 7:15 a.m. June 25.

Micki Tapper of Flint Hill Road spoke with The Press by telephone the next day about the explosion.

“My first thought was a tree fell on our house. We (Micki and husband Gene) live on five areas,” Tapper said. “I went outside and looked around, but didn’t see anything.”

She said the explosion shook her house and windows.

Tapper said there is nothing she knows of in the area that would have caused the explosion.

“There are no quarries in the area that I know of,” Tapper said.

“There are no buildings I know of that are coming down in the area.”

Tapper said she did not call police after the explosion but instead started a social media thread.

“It was mid- to late morning when I started the social media thread,” Tapper stated.

“After starting it, I received comments from people as far away as Walnutport. I even received a comment from somebody in Brodheadsville, who said he heard it.”

Tapper said as the morning went on, more and more people were asking about the explosion.

“When I checked last night, there were 110 comments from people, who said they either heard or felt the blast,” she told The Press.

She said it wasn’t until dinner time the day of the explosion when she realized it was caught on her security camera.

“My main concern when I heard the blast was what was that, what caused it and where did it come from,” Tapper stated.

Tapper said she was not aware of the other bombing incidents in Quakertown, Bucks County and Washington Township, Northampton County in which two men were charged in these two separate incidents.

“After learning about those bombings, it concerns me if that is what it was I heard,” Tapper stated.
