A 5-year-old passenger was fatally injured when the vehicle in which she was riding was struck from behind by a box truck in a traffic accident in Lower Milford Township, according to authorities.

Esther Park, of Ambler, was pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner Jason Nicholas 5:40 p.m. June 20 at the accident scene on Interstate 476 southbound at mile marker 46.4, according to a media release.

An autopsy determined the child died as a result of blunt force trauma. The manner of death was ruled an accident.

The accident happened at approximately 4 p.m. June 20.

Investigating agencies also include the Pennsylvania State Police and Lehigh County District Attorney’s office.
