Coplay Public Library: Free eye exams set for June 27

Blast Off into Reading storytime will be 11 a.m.-noon every Thursday. No preregistration is necessary.

C. Well Bunny will be the guest reader June 27 and will give out free eye exams.

Coplay Public Library will be showing free movies 5-7 p.m. Mondays.

The July 1 movie is “Spaceballs.”

The July 8 movie is “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

The July 15 movie is “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

The July 22 movie is “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

The July 29 movie is “Apollo 13.”

Everyone is welcome. Feel free to bring popcorn.

The library will be closed July 4 for Independence Day. Any materials due that day will now be due July 5.

Don’t forget Munchkin Music with Miss Deb is 4 p.m. July 9.

Bring all your little ones for music and movement.

There is a children’s astronaut activity titled “Be a NASA Detective: Expanding Your Senses” scheduled for 3-4 p.m. July 10.

The teen space escape room is 3-4 p.m. July 17. Teens will be able to help design the room by choosing the theme and puzzles.

Don’t forget about the party commemorating the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing set for noon-2 p.m. July 20. There will be NASA footage of the moon landing.

Learn how to moon walk and decorate special moon cookies.

The Shoot for the Stars adult program scheduled for 6-7 p.m. July 24 will focus on astrology and include a tarot card reading.

Mark your calendar for the Da Vinci Science Center program noon-2 p.m. Aug. 17. Attendees will create their own stomp rockets.

The summer reading program, “A Universe of Stories: Summer Quest 2019,” is now underway! Plenty of activities are scheduled for both children and adults.

Stop in the library anytime and register - it takes two minutes. You can also register on the website, coplaypubliclibrary.org.

There are volunteer positions in the summer reading program available for students in grades 6-12.

Becoming a volunteer is a great addition to resumes or college applications.

Our display case for July will put the spotlight on Coplay organizations. They can be social, service, art, music or any other type of organization or society, whether it still exists or not.

If you have photos, documents, news articles or other keepsakes, we would be happy to include them in the display. Anything you could tell us about the objects would be helpful.

Please call the library or stop in during open hours if you would like to share your remembrances with others.

You can also view items from the time capsule buried 50 years ago.
