SALISBURY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The start of the Salisbury Township Recreation Commission summer playground program at Lindberg Park is delayed one week to finalize construction work.

‘Tomorrow [June 14] is the contractor’s completion date,” Salisbury Township Manager Cathy Bonaskiewich said at the June 13 township meeting, adding, “They are substantially complete.

“Then, next week [June 17-21], there will be a punch list of items to complete,” Bonaskiewich said.

“Will the playground program start Monday [June 17] in Lindberg?” Salisbury Township board of commissioners Vice President Debra Brinton asked.

“No,” Bonaskiewich said.

“No,” Salisbury Township Recreation Director Genny Baillie answered.

The Salisbury Township 2019 Summer Playground Program was to start June 17 in township parks.

Because of construction work at Lindberg, the summer program is to begin there June 24.

“We’ll need a week,” Baillie said.

Baillie said there are no tables at the pavilion and no lock on a storage facility at Lindberg.

Baillie said Lindberg playground staff is at Green Acres Park June 17-21.

“It’s good they got all of the work done with all the rain,” township board of commissioners President Robert Martucci Jr. said.

Township commissioners approved payments June 13 for construction work at Lindberg Park.

By a vote of 5-0, with township Commissioner Rodney Conn making the motion for the vote, seconded by Commissioner Joanne Ackerman, commissioners approved:

Payment No. 10 of $65,092.50 to Kobalt Construction for Lindberg Park Phase 3 Contracted Work;

Payment No. 7 of $14,355 to Kobalt Construction for Lindberg Park Phase 4 Contracted Work and;
