Woman’s Club of Whitehall Township has recognized Caterine Yunez-Cosme as the Girl of the Month for March.

She is the daughter of Wadid Yunez and Olga Cosme, of Whitehall.

Yunez-Cosme has earned high honor roll for all marking periods.

She is a four-year member and vice president of Art Club, three-year member and vice president of SERVE Club and two-year member and vice president of the Science Olympiad. She played on the soccer team for two years and the track and field team for three years.

Yunez-Cosme is a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and the Science, English and Spanish honor societies. She serves as vice president of the Science Honor Society.

She was named the ninth-grade overall Female of the Year and was a Student of the Month for September 2015. She is a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution award, is a College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program scholar and is a National Hispanic Institute graduate.

Yunez-Cosme volunteers at Northampton Area Food Bank and her church. She is a Whitehall Township Public Library Teen Advisory Board member. She also works part time.

A recent Whitehall High School graduate, Yunez-Cosme plans to attend college to pursue a degree in engineering and design.
