UPPER MACUNGIE TWP: Upper Macungie to host shredding event on June 22
Upper Macungie Township, in partnership with certified tennis professional Brian Bleam, will host tennis clinics for all levels at Ricky Park, 5875 Ricky Ridge Trial, Orefield, and Blue Barn Park, 5770 Snowy Orchid.
Adult and junior tennis session two are scheduled for June 17 to July 17.
There is a fee to attend and registration is required.
The township and the Nanny Loft will offer a one-day safe sitter class 9:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. June 17 at the Upper Macungie Township Building, 8330 Schantz Road, Breinigsville.
The class is designed to prepare participants to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings or baby-sitting,
Class content will include safety, child care, fire aid, and rescue, life and business skills.
Classes are available for students in grades six to eight and grades nine to 12.

The township is offering a shredding event 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 22 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road. The event will take place rain or shine.
Only paper documents, no photo negatives, X-rays or heavy plastics.
Staples do not need to be removed.
Limit is five files boxes per person.
Proof of residency will be checked. Yard cards are not an acceptable form of residency.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Avenue, South Whitehall Township, is offering a Medicare Basics workshop 10:30 a.m. June 7 for adults to explore the best Medicare options for them.
The library will be showing the movies “First Reformed” at 1 p.m. June 7 and “Anything Goes” 1 p.m. June 17.
Learn about gerrymandering and how it affects the area at the “A Look at Gerrymandering” event 2:30 p.m. June 10.
A Teen Dragons and Dungeon Night for kid’s ages 6 through 12 grade is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. June 10. Snacks will be provided.
Senior Book Club will meet to discuss the novel “A Good American” by Alex George 3 p.m. June 11 at Luther Crest retirement community, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall.
An adult Vault-Escape the Room is scheduled for 3:30-8:30 p.m. June 11.
All are invited to join the library’s writing workshop “What’s Your Story” 3 p.m. June 12. Learn how to write a memoir.
Join yoga instructor Karen Klubertanz of Five Paths for senior yoga 10:30 a.m. June 13.
Kids ages 2 and older and their fathers are invited to snack on doughnuts while listening to stories at 10:30 a.m. June 15.
All these programs are free and held at the library except the senior book club.
Registration is needed to attend the Medicare Basics workshop, Dads and Donuts, the movies, Dragons and Dungeons, senior book club, the adult Vault-Escape the Room, and senior yoga.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1027 Church St., and St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., both in Fogelsville, are accepting registration for their joint “To Mars and Beyond” themed Vacation Bible School, 9 a.m. to noon July 8-12.
