We are happy to announce the launch of our new website. Please take some time to look at it; more information will be added this month. Thank you to Big Pixel and our tech guy, Jim Gilbert, for helping us build and launch the new site. Please use this address, whitehallpl.org, and make the change to your devices.

The summer reading program for kids, teens and adults is underway. Our theme this year will be “A Universe of Stories.”

We will be talking about space, NASA, planets and the 50th anniversary of the moon walk, which was July 20, 1969. Everyone can sign up until Aug. 3, 2019.

We have a lot of programs, including a children’s space activity 1:30-2:30 p.m. June 12 and a space and Flag Day craft 1:30-2:30 p.m. June 13.

There will be two Buckets Full of Nature programs with Jolie Chylack of the Lehigh County Conservation District.

Space Rocks is 10 a.m. June 27, and Sensational Sun and Marvelous Moon will be 10 a.m. July 18.

The Atmosphere for Food program with Dr. Annabelle Broadbent is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 9.

Broadbent will tell us about the relationship between food and space, covering topics such as the transfer of technology from space to the dinner table, preparing food for astronauts on their journeys into space and food safety.

She is an internationally recognized pathogenic food microbiologist, food/nutrition research scientist and food safety expert with more than 30 years of experience working in government, private industry and academia. Some of that experience includes work with NASA and the USDA.

The third Monday open mic and jam will be held 6:30 p.m. June 17.

Thank you to Rocking the Valley Online Radio for its support. Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up 6-6:30 p.m.

Musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, writers and storytellers are invited to come show off your stuff, or just come and be part of the audience!

Stop by and purchase a new blue book bag. Take a picture of yourself with your bag on vacation and send it to us! We will be posting pictures on the wall near the water fountain until January 2020.

Email pictures to researcher1998@yahoo.com or drop off a copy at the front desk. Tell us where the picture was taken, but supplying your name is optional.
