STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Q. In what grade, are you currently enrolled?
A. I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject is environmental science because it is interesting to see how much humans affect the earth and I enjoy watching documentaries and doing the projects in class.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I was inducted into National Honor Society my sophomore year. I have lettered all four years in soccer and have received league honorable mention in 2016, Second Team All-League honors in 2017, First Team All-League Honors in 2018 and was one of the offensive MVPs for our team. I was named to The Morning Call All Area team each of the last two years. I was the captain for both the soccer and basketball teams my senior year. In basketball, I was named a Via-All Star my senior season. In leagues, for track, I have placed in each of my sophomore, junior and senior years. In districts, I placed second in all three jumping events my senior year and made it to the state championship meet in Shippensburg for high jump. I have also just received the David Todd Smith Memorial Scholarship and the Athletic Booster Club Falcon Award.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A. I am a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, Best Buddies, Future Business Leaders of America and Student Advisory. I have played soccer, basketball and did jumping events for track and field for the past four years.
Q. What is your next goal after graduation?
A. I plan to attend Temple University and major in early childhood education.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. My biggest challenge to date has been procrastination. I don’t always like to do bigger assignments right away, but I have realized to not push them off because it will just stress me out.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I would like to be remembered as a caring person who will always be there for others.
Q. Who is in your family?
A. My dad, Eric, mom, Jane and two older brothers, Shaun and Collin.
Q. Whom do you admire? Why?
A. I admire my older brothers because of how hard they work and the constant support they give me in everything I do.
Q. Do you have any advice for our peers?
A. Try to manage your time when it come to extracurricular activities and school work. If you procrastinate, you will end up stressing yourself out.
