NCC

Christian Stezelberger, a Walnutport native and a Northampton Community College electronics technology major, competed in the industrial motor control category at the SkillsUSA state conference in Hershey April 12. He won first place and a gold medal in the postsecondary category and will go on to compete at the national level during the 55th annual national leadership and skills conference, representing NCC, in Louisville, Ky., in June.

Aside from being an electronics technology major, Stezelberger has been multi-tracking courses to progress with the electromechanical program. As a first-year NCC student, he aspires to obtain a job in the field of industrial maintenance where he can design circuits upon graduation.

SkillsUSA is a national career and technical student organization that educates those involved and offers employability skills to those studying a trade, technical and skilled service occupation.

Kutztown University

Ian Messenlehner, of Whitehall, and Justine Rivera-Strause, of Coplay, were among more than 180 Kutztown University students inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success as part of the spring 2019 class. To be inducted at KU, students must attend an orientation, a three-hour leadership training seminar, three success networking team meetings and three speaker broadcasts featuring leading figures delivering success-related messages to members.

Madison Marzano, of Northampton, and Hannah Mittermeier, of Coplay, have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester at Emerson College. Mittermeier is majoring in comedic arts and is a member of the Class of 2020. The requirement to make Emerson’s dean’s list is a GPA of 3.7 or higher.

Kutztown University

Gabriela Dantas, of Whitehall, was among 40 Kutztown University new members inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society for adult learners at its induction ceremony this spring. Inductees are adult students who have a minimum 3.2 GPA and have successfully completed at least 24 credits at Kutztown University.

Cedar Crest College

Cedar Crest College congratulates the newest Delphi Society inductees for the spring 2019 semester for their outstanding academic achievements. Delphi is the college’s honor society for undergraduate students. Students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 at the end of their junior year or their senior year are recognized as members.

Misericordia University

Misericordia University has named the students who have qualified for the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester. Students must earn a 3.55 GPA or higher to achieve this honor.

Clarion University

John Graves, of Coplay, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. To earn placement on the dean’s list, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 GPA.

Kutztown University

The mathematics department at Kutztown University inducted 13 students, among them Abby Moyer, of Whitehall, into Kappa Mu Epsilon National Mathematics Honor Society, a national mathematics honor society, at its induction ceremony May 3.

KME was founded in 1931 to promote the interest of mathematics among undergraduate students. Its chapters are located in colleges and universities of recognized standing, which offer a strong mathematics major. The chapters’ members are selected from students of mathematics and other closely related fields who have maintained standards of scholarship, have professional merit and have attained academic distinction. Both men and women are eligible for membership.
