Curt Simmons Day festivities will begin noon June 1 with a parade down Main Street and will continue with an opening program, presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7239, at the monument and an all-day festival at Egypt Memorial Park, Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive.
Musical entertainment will be provided 1-4 p.m. by Jake Kaligis and Crippled Moonshine and 6-10 p.m. by The Aardvarks.
Children and adults will be entertained by games and rides. Food will be available for purchase at local food trucks and trailers, including ice cream, fresh-popped kettle corn, pretzels, beer and wine.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church’s Vacation Bible School will be held 6-8:30 p.m. July 8-12 at 4331 Main St., Egypt. The theme is “ROAR! Life Is Wild, God Is Good!”
