BASD: Gov. Wolf gets Giant donation

GIANT Food Stores recently announced a $3 million donation to more than 2,200 public and private schools through its A+ School Rewards program. Bethlehem’s Govenor Wolf ES is one of 10 Pennsylvania schools to receive a donation from Giant Food Store. The school received $9,486 from an annual customer-driven school fundraising program that helps local schools raise money for educational programs, field trips, scholarships, playgrounds, and more, just by grocery shopping.

Other state schools receiving donations are Cumberland Valley HS, Mechanicsburg; William Davis ES, Southampton; Elmwood ES, Mechanicsburg; Bear Creek School, Elizabethtown; Avon Grove HS, West Grove; Saint Joseph School, Mechanicsburg; North Coventry ES, Pottstown; Spring Ford Intermediate School, Royersford; and Dallastown Area Intermediate School.

Each fall, customers can sign up and designate up to two schools to benefit from their purchases. A+ School Rewards points are then accrued with each purchase made using a Bonus Card throughout the school year.
