The National Museum of Industrial History is honoring the nearly 50 years since the groundbreaking of Martin Tower prior to its implosion this month with a 2 p.m. May 11 lecture. The “Unique Birth of Martin Tower” with retired licensed professional engineer Gordon Baker.
He helped develop and implement a computerized system that produced the drawings needed to fabricate Martin Tower’s beams and columns, and later supervised the fabrication of the tower’s steel.
