John Hart recently retired this past year as senior vice president of medical operations after a 33-year career at a large local healthcare network.
He was appointed to Emmaus Borough Council in January to fill a vacancy and currently chairs the budget and finance committee.
In addition to two other council committees, he has been a member on the Emmaus Board of Health. His education includes: B.S. Medical Technology, Penn State University; MEd Biology, Kutztown University and a MS in Administration, the University of Notre Dame.
Hart has held chair positions on both local and state organizations. He and his wife Kathleen – a retired reading specialist teacher – are 40 plus year residents of the borough having raised two adult daughters.
Hart believes in a fiscally strategic approach to addressing issues before the borough. He is committed to making tough decisions about what businesses or services the borough should remain in, establishing relentless pursuit of efficiencies and higher quality through the appropriate use of technology and elimination of unnecessary work and investigating outside sponsorship funding to offset the costs of recreational parks and facilities.
