At the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting April 18, the commissioners approved a land development plan for Air Products and Chemicals’ new facility at Mill Creek Road.
A 10-story structure with a research and development building and a 6-story parking structure will be constructed with only a small part of this in Lower Macungie Township. A compromise was made with the entrance to the area using the Hamilton Boulevard traffic light at the Movie Tavern.
The Ricky Kulik Funeral Home was approved for 6503 Mill Creek Road. The funeral home project will also add a crematory and parking lot with stormwater management.
A resolution was approved for disposal of township records. Timesheets, bank statements, engineering projects and other documents with certain dates were approved for disposal.
Staff Sgt. George Heiserman, U.S. Army, wrote a letter of thanks for the township’s troop support. Heiserman expressed the troop’s gratitude for these care packages and the township’s continued support.
Thomas JeBran from Trans-Bridge Lines sent a letter of thanks for issuing the no parking ordinance. A feasible parking solution is being considered.
There was an executive session about personnel and land acquisition.
The discussion on 5G Wireless Distributed Antennas was tabled until Aug. 1.
Lower Macungie Township approved a township park memorial program. This program allows for the dedication of trees, engraved plaques and park benches with approval from the township. The application for approval can be found online.
