Sheckler News: Students to enjoy reward presentation

Bright Star Theatre will be putting on a presentation, called “One Small Step,” for Sheckler Elementary School students May 7.

This assembly is being held as a reward for those students who kept positive behavior during April.

Please take note that May 8, which was a scheduled early dismissal in-service day, has been changed and is now a full day for students.

The annual fourth-grade egg drop at Sheckler Elementary will take place 1:15 p.m. May 10 in the school’s lower parking lot. Fourth-grade students are being asked to create a protective place for their uncooked egg to survive safely from a 50-foot drop.

This will be done by volunteers from the local fire department here in Catasauqua from atop of the department’s ladder truck.

Protective containers can be no larger than the size of a shoe box. No glass containers are allowed. No peanut butter or any other food item can be included in containers due to any student having food allergies.

Lots of luck to all participants on having an egg that survives the drop!

Congrats to all second-grade students on an outstanding performance when they took to the stage April 25 for their “Bugs” program for family and friends.
