Join us 6:30-7:30 p.m. May 7 for Creation Station Club. The program is open to all school-age children for a variety of building fun.

Construction play teaches children to problem solve, connect socially, understand and be inquisitive in their play. Playing with no specific set purpose or limitations allows children to use the full force of their imaginations. Also, building something gives children immense satisfaction and a feeling of accomplishment, which is great for their confidence and sense of independence.

The program runs the first Tuesday of every month.

The adult coloring club will meet 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. This club is for anyone 18 and older.

The library has some supplies but invites you to bring your own as well.

If you shop at Redner’s Warehouse Market, there is a new opportunity for you to help the library. There is a box in the library where you can drop off your Redner’s receipts, which the library will collect as part of the Save-A-Tape program to earn 1 percent of the total amount.

This doesn’t include items controlled by the government, such as milk, alcohol, tobacco products or taxes, but the library can make some money off anything else. Please ask your friends and family to save their receipts and donate them to the library.

The library recently added a new database to the holdings. It is called Fold3 by Ancestry, and it contains military records, photos, stories and personal documents of men and women who served in the military.

You may use this database from home or at the library.

Power Library can also be found on the databases listed on the right side of the library’s website. This is for all Pennsylvania residents, and each library in the state has a link.

This resource includes thousands of magazine and journal articles, newspapers, photographs, pictures, charts, maps and reference materials for people of all ages.

As a Pennsylvanian, you enjoy 24/7 access simply by using your local library card or registering for an e-card.

***

Don’t forget to change out your library card for a new Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative card. There is no cost to exchange an old card for a new one.

See the library staff for more details.
