SALISBURY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

A longtime Salisbury Township municipal office employee was honored for her years of service.

Kathryn J. Martucci, administrative assistant, township planning, zoning and code enforcement departments, was recognized for her 19 years of service at the April 11 township meeting.

Township commissioners voted unanimously 5-0 to approve a resolution at the April 11 meeting to honor Martucci and approve her retirement benefits. Commissioner Rodney Conn made the motion to bring the resolution to a vote, seconded by board of commissioners Vice President Debra Brinton.

Salisbury Township Director of Planning and Zoning Cynthia Sopka and Salisbury Township Assistant Township Manager-Code Enforcement Director Sandy Nicolo presented Martucci with a plaque of the resolution.

Township officials were effusive in their praise of Martucci, whose retirement date is May 6.

“You’re already missed,” Nicolo said to Martucci, adding, “Kathy is someone who took a lot of pride in what she did. She’s very organized.”

Said Sopka, noting there were a few weeks between the April 11 meeting and Martucci’s retirement date, “You can come back. You’re definitely missed. You kept us very well organized.”

Noted Conn, who was on the township zoning hearing board prior to becoming a commissioner, “Coming from someone who served on the zoning hearing board, I’d like to thank you for your service.”

Said Salisbury Township Consulting Engineer David J. Tettemer, “It was very enjoyable working with you.”

The township board of commissioners next meets 7 p.m. April 25 in the township municipal building, 2900 S. Pike Ave.
