Karen M. Dax, 72, died April 20, 2019. She was the wife of Louis F. Dax Sr. for 24 years.
Born in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late Frank Schmidt and Eleanor I. (Roberts) Schmidt Meier.
She worked for Aetna Insurance Company for 19 years. She then worked for Merck, PMA and in the Whitehall High School cafeteria.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catasauqua.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Krista (Leibenguth) and her husband Lee Sandt and Yvette and her husband Jason Lowry; six grandchildren, Kameron Benko, Tanner Roman, Layne Sandt, Louis Simper and Zackery and Hunter Lowry; a great-granddaughter, Izabel Lowry; three sisters, Donna Rehrig-Kunkle and her husband Johnny, Elizabeth Krause and her companion Donald Williamson and Eileen Balliet; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Kara Leibenguth; and a son, Chad Leibenguth.
There will be a Mass of Christian burial 9:30 a.m. at the church, 122 W. Union St., Catasauqua, followed by a viewing 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton, 18067, both April 27.
Contributions may be made to the Chad Leibenguth scholarship fund at Lycoming College or the Chad Leibenguth scholarship fund at Whitehall High School, both c/o the funeral home.
