Cedar Crest College is offering a crime scene camp this summer June 24-26. Hosted by the forensic science faculty and students, the program’s curriculum is geared toward students in ninth and 10th grades and will take place on the college campus from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Emphasis will be placed on understanding the roles of investigators and scientists at scenes, crime scene documentation and recognizing and collecting a variety of evidence types. Students will learn all aspects of crime scene investigation from forensic science professionals.

During this intensive three-day camp, attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to properly process various types of crime scenes including those with fingerprints, bloodstain patterns, bones and entomologic evidence. Attendees will then analyze their evidence, interpret the results and perform a crime scene reconstruction based on science.

On the last day of the camp, students will testify to their findings as expert witnesses in a courtroom setting. The course/lab fee is $250.

For additional information, see the flier on the Catasauqua High School guidance office bulletin board.
