Woman’s Club of Whitehall Township has named Shahd Habeb as the Girl of the Month for January.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gaith Habeb, of Whitehall, and moved to the U.S. from Qatar in 11th grade.

Habeb has earned high honor roll for all marking periods.

She is a member of Key Club, SERVE Club, Book Club and Spanish Club. She is president of HOSA-Future Health Professionals, formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America.

She is president of National Honor Society. She also belongs to Mu Alpha Theta and the Science and Spanish honor societies.

She was named a Math Student of the Year and is a participant in the Emerging Health Professionals program.

Habeb plays piano and is a swimmer. She is also CPR and first-aid certified.

Habeb volunteers with Special Olympics and at Country Meadows. She also assists with the blood drive.

She plans to major in biology at University of Pittsburgh. She then plans to continue in the dental pathway to become an orthodontist.
