Gockley Elementary principal discusses full-day kindergarten
At the April 8 Whitehall-Coplay School Board meeting, Denise Saylor, principal of Gockley Elementary School, presented a slideshow of the kindergarten and first-grade classes’ activities and achievements throughout the year. She discussed the transition to the full-day kindergarten program that begins in August.
“Today was our first day of kindergarten registration, so it’s starting to feel a little more real as we’re talking to the parents about that. We’re very excited.
“We’ve heard all positive comments. [Parents] were very excited about the transition next year, and I know our staff will be very prepared,” Saylor said. “We’ve been meeting all year as a building committee to make sure that we are prepared for that transition, and we’re looking at all of the pieces.”
