Police arrested two young Easton men after they attempted to scam a resident using fake currency.
According to police, officers responded to a report around 5:20 p.m. April 2 of a theft victim following the thieves on Hecktown Road. He said he agreed through an online transaction to meet the presumed buyers of a PlayStation 4 at Colonial Regional Police Department as a safe location, but during the exchange noted the $500 had an improper look and consistency.
Orricers stopped Sean Verbics of Glen Avenue, and Daniel Torres-Lopez of Kendon Avenue, both 18, and questioned. They allegedly confessed to using fake money for the transaction.
Verbics and Torres-Lopez are charged with theft by deception and forgery and conspiracy.
