Emergency Management Coordinator Sherry Graver told Washington Township supervisors at their recent monthly meeting St. Luke’s Hospital will be providing tourniquets for each fire truck, and a kit containing four more would be among the supplies provided for each fire company and the forestry task force.

In other matters, the board reported all townships in Lehigh County have approved the hazard mitigation plan. That makes them eligible to apply for grants.

Kevin Gombart asked if the proposed target range ordinance would cover private ranges. He was told it would and violators would be subject to fines.

Resident Ed Ziegler asked what streets will be paved this season.

He was told Church Street, Oak Ridge Drive, High Point and Oak Drive. Hill Road and Riverview will be tar and chipped.

Northern Valley Ambulance Corps (NOVA) will sponsor a flea market April 27 at its Ormrod headquarters.

Jan Sutermeister, head of a swimming pool committee in Northwestern Lehigh, said the committee had been incorporated by the state and can now start raising funds.

She brought along photos of the proposed pool and recreation area. A survey came out favoring construction of the pool. In addition to the four townships in Northwestern Lehigh, surrounding townships are invited to participate.

Dale and Rosemarie Wertman, 3233 Old Post Road, received approval for a lot line adjustment contingent upon accurately locating an on-lot sewer system.
