Classical closer: The Allentown Symphony Orchestra, conducted by ASO Music Director Diane Wittry, concludes the ASO’s 2018-2019 season with performances of Verdi’s “Requiem,” 7:30 p.m. April 13 and 3 p.m. April 14, Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown. The concerts feature the Allentown Symphony Orchestra Chorus, prepared by director Eduardo Azzati; Muhlenberg College Choir, prepared by director Dr. Christopher Jackson, and guest vocalists soprano Toni Marie Palmertree, mezzo-soprano Patricia Risley, bass Jeremy Galyon and tenor Kirk Dougherty. For each of the two concerts, there’ll be more than 100 choir members on the stage along with the members of the Allentown Symphony. “Meet the Artist” with Wittry, Concert Conducting Fellow Michael Wittenberg and concert vocal soloists, noon-1 p.m. April 12, Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown. Sins no more? Muihlenberg College radio station, WMUH, 91.7-FM, wmuh.org presents the Original Sins with St. John’s Alliance, 8 p.m. April 13, Seegers Union. Muhlenberg College, 2400 Chew St., Allentown. Brother JT (John Terlesky), vocals, guitar, songwriter; Ken Bussiere, bass; Dan McKinney, keyboards, and Dave Ferrara, drums, are getting back together in the town where it all began. The Sins are said to have “blazed a trail that summoned the 1960s’ gods of garage and psych while stamping an unmistakable contemporary spin on the proceedings.” Also reuniting for the concert is St. John’s Alliance, a Beatles-influenced band that features the rhythm section of Bussiere and Ferrara that predated the Sins. There’s also a concert by the Sins at 7 p.m. April 12, Johnny Brenda’s, Philadelphia. The concerts are said to be The Sins’ last gigs with the original lineup.
