An Upper Milford Township man sustained fatal injuries when he was struck by a vehicle April 4 along Vera Cruz Road in Upper MIlford Township.
In a media release from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center, authorities identified William Adams, 55, as the man pronounced dead by Chief Deputy Coroner Andrew Kehm 9:26 p.m. April 4 in the 4700 block of Vera Cruz Road.
An autopsy was completed April 5. The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force injuries due to a pedestrian motor vehicle accident. The manner of death was determined to be an accident.
Adams was struck by a motor vehicle at the location at approximately 8:35 p.m., according to the media release from the coroner’s office.
According to a media release from Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, a 19-year-old male, of Emmaus, was the driver of a 1992 Jeep Cherokee that struck Adams. The vehicle was traveling north in the northbound lane in the 4700 block of Vera Cruz Road. Adams was traveling south on the eastern side of the road. The driver did not observe the pedestrian on the shoulder of the road and the Jeep fatally struck the pedestrian, according to police.
Emmaus Ambulance Corps, Vera Cruz Fire Department and Stew’s Tire Center also responded to the scene.
