EAST PENN NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS

East Penn Neighbors Helping Neighbors recently held a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at Bethel Bible Church in Emmaus.

EPNHN serves families with children living in the East Penn School District who are homeless or home insecure through multi-faceted short-term assistance in order to help restore and sustain healthy, independent living.

After an initial assessment to identify needs, a family is welcomed into temporary transitional housing. EPNHN volunteers with the skills to help meet the family’s needs work as part of a support team assigned to the family.

EPNHN partners with the East Penn School District, the Borough of Emmaus, local churches, businesses, service organizations, residents and volunteers to support one family at a time.

Volunteers are needed to provide basic services such as the transportation of family members, providing one-time/infrequent child care, moving furniture to and from the EPNHN apartment/housing spaces, assisting with grocery shopping and meal planning or assisting with searching for affordable housing as families leave the program.

Volunteers are also needed to provide professional services pro-bono or at a reduced rate, including (but not limited to) career counseling, budgeting and financial planning, parenting and/or marriage skill development and GED tutoring.

If you have questions about EPNHN or desire to volunteer, contact the group through its Facebook page.
