April 2 marked Coordinated Traffic Enforcement Day in Pennsylvania.

In an effort to advance the Vision Zero 2019 Plan, adopted by Lehigh Township last month, Lehigh Township Police Department, in cooperation with Walnutport Police Department, conducted multiple simultaneous traffic enforcement details on Routes 145 and 248 in Lehigh Township.

During this five-hour traffic enforcement wave, 81 total citations were issued.

Seventy-seven citations were issued for speeding, with the fastest recorded vehicle traveling at 94 miles per hour on Route 145.

Three citations were issued for occupants not wearing seat belts.

One citation was issued for failure to obey traffic control devices.
