Northampton: Borough egg hunt set for April 13

The borough will hold its annual Easter egg hunt 11 a.m. April 13 at Municipal Park, Smith Lane and Laubach Avenue. Rain date is 1 p.m. April 14.

The event is open to Northampton residents up to age 10. All participants will receive prizes.

The Hungarian Hall, Stewart and Canal streets, will hold an Easter egg hunt 11:30 a.m. April 14.

The stories of Jesus were told orally for years before they were written down in the Gospels. The Rev. Todd Fennell will tell the stories of Jesus’ last week from Mark’s Gospel 7:30 p.m. Good Friday, April 19, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 19th Street and Lincoln Avenue.

A freewill offering will be received.

The 67th annual Festival of Bands will be held 2:30 p.m. April 28 in the auditorium of Northampton Area High School, 1619 Laubach Ave. The event, featuring the Allentown, Marine, Municipal and Pioneer bands, will present a pops concert with music from the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s. The NAHS jazz ensemble will be a special guest.

Enjoy selections from The Association, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Journey, Queen and The Beatles.

Admission is free. All freewill offerings collected will benefit Lehigh Valley children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
