The 10th annual Ready, Set, GO(LD) 5K walk, 8K run and kids’ fun run is scheduled for April 13 along the Ironton Rail Trail. It begins at Saylor Park.

Registration starts 7 a.m., the 8K run begins 8:30 a.m., the 5K walk steps off 9 a.m. and the kids’ fun run starts 10:30 a.m. The awards and post-race refreshments begin 11 a.m.

The event benefits the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley.

Coplay Lions Club meets 7:15 p.m. April 15 at the Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St.

Coplay Public Library, 49 S. Fifth St., will hold a free movie event starting 1 p.m. April 20.

The two featured films will be “The Croods” and “The Book Thief.”

The Edward M. Kennedy Democratic Association, aka Coplay Democratic Club, is holding a meet the candidates event April 28 at Paulie’s Restaurant, 1214 Chestnut St.

There will be a business meeting for club members 1 p.m. Candidates or their surrogates should arrive by 1:30 p.m.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is hosting a community dinner 4-6:30 p.m. May 4.

The menu will include pork, sauerkraut and sides.
