“Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” delivers enchantment to the stage, 7 p.m. April 11, 12 and 2 and 7 p.m. April 13, auditorium, Liberty High School, 1115 Linden St., Bethlehem.

An arrogant prince, under a spell as punishment for his selfish ways, is transformed into a hideous creature. For the curse to end, he must learn to love and be loved by the young woman he imprisoned.

“We would love for you to ‘Be Our Guest,’” says Liberty production director Judith Rivera.

She is aided by assistant director Laura Mainiero, choral director Julie Wydrynski, orchestra director Allen Frank, choreographer Colette Boudreux and audio engineer Timothy Treweek. Set construction is by Ross Makary.

With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and book by Linda Woolverton, the musical is adapted from Disney’s Academy Award-winning 1991 animated feature of the same title. The film is based on the French fairy tale, “La Belle et la Bête,” by Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont.

The original 1994 Broadway production was nominated for nine Tony Awards, receiving one Tony Award.

“Belle,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Be Our Guest” and “Something There” are among the featured songs.
