The Falcons were swept by Notre Dame (Green Pond) and Pen Argyl in a season-opening track meet.

The Falcons girls lost 99.5-45.5 to Pen Argyl and fell 101-44 to Notre Dame.

The Falcons’ Melena Koutch (high jump, triple jump) and Erica Holben (long jump) earned event wins for Salisbury.

In the boys meet, Salisbury fell 85-59 to Pen Argyl and lost 97-52 to Notre Dame.

The Falcons’ Shane Artis (1600, 3200) and Timmy Buda (200) won events at the meet.

Lehighton beat the Falcons 8-1.

Indians pitchers limited the Falcons to just three hits in the game.

Salisbury’s Josh Orlena had a hit and an RBI in the game.

Friday, March 29

Northern Lehigh-Salisbury

The Falcons used a five-run fourth inning to erase Northern Lehigh’s early lead and go on to a 6-3 win over the Bulldogs.

Salisbury fell behind as Northern Lehigh scored a run in each of the first two innings. BUt the Falcons posted five runs in the fourth and an insurance tally in the sixth.

Quinn Warmkessel earned the win, but gave way to Hayden Kuhns in the sixth inning.

Colin Weiss went 2-for-3 for the Falcons and drove in three runs. Warmkessel went 2-for-4 in the win.

Wednesday, March 27

Salisbury-Catasauqua

The Rough Riders beat Salisbury 12-3. No other information about the game was received by the Press.

BOYS TENNIS

Saturday, March 30

Salisbury-Palisades

Palisades won all three singles matches for a 3-2 victory over the Falcons.

Salisbury’s Bradley Hnatow and Dylan Thompson won the No. 1 doubles match 6-4, 6-7, 12-10 and CJ Ekdahl and Tanner Ruth took the second doubles match 6-1, 7-6.

Pen Argyl-Salisbury

The Falcons dropped only one match in a 4-1 win over Pen Argyl.

Dylan Weber and Christopher Marinos picked up singles wins for the Falcons, while Brad Hnatow and Dylan Thompson combined for one doubles win and teammates CJ Ekdahl and Tanner Ruth combined for the other doubles victory.

Northern Lehigh-Salisbury

Salisbury took a fifth-inning lead and held on for a 4-3 win over Northern Lehigh.

The Falcons fell behind 1-0 in the second inning, but came back with a run in the fourth and two in the fifth. Northern Lehigh tied the game with a pair of runs in the sixth inning, but the Falcons, which committed six errors in the game, scored in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the victory.

Winning Falcon pitcher Emily Silberman had a two-run homer in the game while allowing just three Bulldog hits.

Wednesday, March 27

Salisbury-Catasauqua

The Falcons scored 19 runs in the first inning and closed out the 20-run rule victory with five more in the top of the third inning.

Peyton Stauffer had a pair of doubles and recorded the 100th hit of her career in the game while going 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Gretchen Helsel went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs for Salisbury. Other players driving in two or more runs for the Falcons were Sara Lamana (3), Kayla Trenge (3), Emily Silberman (2) and Marcie Silberman (2).
