MACUNGIE COLUMN

Macungie Bears Swim Team will host a “Meet the Team” event 12:30-2:30 p.m. April 6 at Emmaus High School pool. Swimmers interested in joining the team are welcome to come and meet the team and coaches. Team registration will also be taken at this event. Team registration will also be offered at Macungie Memorial Park 5-6:30 p.m. April 11.

With warmer temperatures come the many outside events held from spring through fall at Macungie Memorial Park. Volunteers are needed to help with these events. If you are able to donate some time, call 610-966-4289 or email macungiepark@gmail.com.

There will be an Easter Eggstravaganza Craft and Vendor Show 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 7 at Macungie Memorial Park.

Concordia Lutheran Preschool will hold its annual Community Easter Egg Hunt rain or shine 9:30 a.m. April 13 with registration starting 9 a.m. There will be a pancake breakfast immediately following in Fellowship Hall. Free will offerings will support the preschool’s scholarship fund and the Latvia Mission Trip.

The first cruise night of the season will begin 3 p.m. April 20 at Macungie Memorial Park. For more information, call 610-966-4289.

Egg decorating for the Macungie Easter Egg Hunt will take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20 at Memorial Hall in Macungie Memorial Park.

There will be photos with the Easter Bunny 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 20 at Flower Park. The event is sponsored by the Town Beautification Committee.

The Macungie Easter Egg Hunt will take place 2 p.m. April 21 at Macungie Memorial Park.

Friends of Macungie Institute will hold a fundraising cash bingo 1 p.m. April 28 at Macungie Memorial Park. Doors open noon. Proceeds benefit the Macungie Institute. Food is available for purchase. For more information, call 610-966-7830.

The Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, will hold a nickel carnival 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28. There will be kids games, bingo, a cake walk and food. All are welcome. Proceeds will be donated to Halo Project.

There will be a GM on Display Car Show 9 a.m. to noon May 5 for General Motors cars and trucks at Macungie Memorial Park. There will be food and music. For more information, call 610-966-4289.

The Lower Lehigh Lions will sponsor a flea market and garage sale 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 11 at Macungie Memorial Park. There will be no rain date this year. Macungie Pool is offering discounted family memberships if registered by May 1.

Macungie Fire Company meets 7 p.m. April 8 at social quarters.

Macungie VFW Post 9264 meets 7 p.m. April 8 at the post home on Lehigh Street.

The VFW Auxiliary of Macungie VFW Post 9264 meets 1 p.m. April 18 at the post home.

Macungie Rod and Gun Club Board meets 7 p.m. April 18 at the club.

Macungie Borough Council meets 7:30 p.m. April 15 and May 6 at borough hall, 21 Locust St., Macungie.

The Macungie Park Board of Directors meeting will be held downstairs 7 p.m. April 30. The public is welcome.

Bingo is held weekly Saturday evenings at Macungie Memorial Park. Doors open 4:30 p.m. and games begin 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 610-966-4289.

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., will share Lenten services with Solomon’s UCC 7 p.m. April 10 at Grace and April 3 at Solomon’s.

Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, will hold Lenten Worship services 7 p.m. April 3 and 10.
