Hokendauqua: Celebration of the Arts is set

The annual Celebration of the Arts event, presented by Woman’s Club of Whitehall Township, will be held 6 p.m. April 8. Students from kindergarten through third grade will display their winning entries.

The evening’s entertainment will be Wagstaff and Company.

Members are reminded to bring individual juice boxes for the Snack Pack Pals program.

The club meets at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 Macarthur Road.

Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association will be holding its annual Easter egg hunt for the children of Hokendauqua 1 p.m. April 14. The egg hunt will be held at the park’s baseball fields.

When arriving, park in the lot next to the storage building, the pavilion building or along the creek.

The Easter Bunny is planning to stop by for a visit and check out the egg hunt!

If there is bad weather, April 20 - also with a 1 p.m. starting time - will be the new date.

Hosted by Whitehall Historical Preservation Society, walking tours of the historic village of Hokendauqua will take place April 27. There is a rain date of May 4.

The free hourlong tours will be given between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will start at First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, 3005 S. Front St.

HPPA is hosting a designer purse bingo fundraiser, featuring Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Vera Bradley items, April 28 at Victor C. Talotta Park, Cementon. Doors open noon, and bingo begins 1 p.m.

There will also be specials, door prizes, a Chinese auction and food.

First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua will host a flea market and yard sale, to be held 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 4.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church is planning its spring craft fair, set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 4.

There will be more than 100 tables of crafts, quilted items and baked goods. You could be the lucky winner of a quilted wall hanging!

There will also be a Chinese auction and refreshments.
