A 48-year-old Coplay woman died after the 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle she was a passenger on was struck by a 2006 Infiniti G35 driven by a 16-year-old female from Macungie 6:02 p.m. March 30 in the 6900 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Upper Macungie Township.
According to Lehigh County Coroner Eric D. Minnich, Lori Seip was pronounced dead 9:29 p.m. the same day at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Minnich said the cause of Seip’s death is multiple blunt force injuries due to a motorcycle/motor vehicle accident. He ruled the manner of her death an accident.
According to police, the car was traveling westbound on Hamilton Boulevard, attempting to make a left turn into the Trexler Plaza Mall Shopping Center, when it struck the motorcycle driven by David M. Seip, 52, of Coplay.
The motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Hamilton Boulevard, attempting to go straight through the intersection, when it was hit.
Lori Seip was transported to the hospital by Cetronia Ambulance Corps.
David Seip, who sustained a suspected minor injury, was also transported by Cetronia Ambulance Corps to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Both Lori and David Seip were wearing motorcycle helmets, police say.
Neither the teen nor her 17-year-old male passenger from Macungie were injured.
Both teens were wearing their seatbelts.
This crash remains under investigation.
