Whitehall: ‘Mamma Mia!’

“Mamma Mia!” brings romance to the stage while featuring classic Abba hits at 7 p.m. April 4, 5, 6, and 2 p.m. April 7, auditorium, Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road, Whitehall.

Set on a Greek island, a young bride-to-be invites three men from her mother’s past to her wedding without consulting mom. She is determined to find out which one of them is her father, so she can ask him to walk her down the aisle.

Monique Haney directs the Whitehall production, assisted by choreographer Melissa Zimmer and producer and music director Eddie Hong.

With music and lyrics by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson and book by Catherine Johnson, the musical comedy debuted on Broadway in 2001, receiving five Tony Award nominations.

“Dancing Queen,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “Money, Money, Money,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Lay All Your Love on Me,” “Voulez-Vous,” “Super Trouper” and “Mama Mia!” are among the featured songs.
