The Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association has donated $25,000 to St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Planned is a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and renovation of the inpatient pediatric unit by early 2020 at St. Luke’s University Hospital - Bethlehem.

A video of an artist’s rendering of the proposed unit and renovations was shown at the March 20 Preview Gala at Stabler Center for the 2019 Lehigh Valley Auto Show.

The 22nd annual Lehigh Valley Auto Show presented by the Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association, with the theme, “Driving the Valley,” opened March 21 and concluded March 24 with more than 150,000-square-feet of displays of new cars, trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and cycles in Stabler Athletic and Convocation Center, Rauch Fieldhouse, and Goodman Halls A and B, Murray H. Goodman Campus, Lehigh University, 124 Goodman Drive, Bethlehem.

Chair of the 2019 auto show is Tom Daub, President, Brown-Daub Dealerships.

Tom Kwiatek, Executive Director, Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association, presented introductory remarks, and Melanie Falcon, news anchor, “69 News” 4 p.m. newscast, WFMZ-TV, emceed the check presentation at the gala.

The check presentaton was made by Sam Borrelli, President, Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association, and Andy Trauger, Dealer Services Relationship Manager, Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association, to Dr. Jennifer Janco, Chief of Pediatrics, St. Luke’s University Health Network; Carol A. Kuplen, President, St. Luke’s University Hospital - Bethlehem, and Chief Nursing Officer, St. Luke’s University Hospital Network, and Jessika Haynos, Service Line Manager, Children’s Services, St. Luke’s University Hospital.

“St. Luke’s is strategic to know where the communities’ needs are. The next logical step is a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unitt at St Luke’s Bethlehem in 2020,” Janco said prior to the check presentation.

“Community Days” were March 21 and 22 at the Lehigh Valley Auto Show. Participating nonprofits sold discounted tickets as a fundraiser for their organizations.

“Military And First Responder Appreciation Day” was March 22. Admission was free with a valid ID. Accompanying family members, up to four, could attend at half-price admission.

“St. Luke’s University Health Network Appreciation Night” was held the evening of March 21 at the Lehigh Valley Auto Show.

The Women’s Business Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce held its annual scholarship fundraiser for the first time at the Lehigh Valley Auto Show with “Top Chef of the Valley,” March 21, with wine-tasting and dishes samples from Lehigh Valley chefs.
