Atty. Gross opens Trexler exhibit

LV Museum:

The exhibition, “The Life & Legacy of General Harry C. Trexler,” opens at 1 p.m. March 30 with introductory remarks by Atty. Malcolm J. Gross at the Lehigh County Historical Society’s Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown,

“General Trexler’s life offers an inspiring example of hard work, determination, citizenship and philanthropy,” said Joseph Garrera, Executive Director of the Museum. “His impact on Lehigh County is incalculable.”

Easton native Harry C. Trexler (1854 – 1933), a United States industrialist, businessman, conservationist and philanthropist, spent most of his life as a resident of Allentown.

Trexler’s businesses included: Trexler Lumber Company, Lehigh Portland Cement, Trexler Farms and Pennsylvania Power and Light.

Trexler worked to save the American bison, established a trout hatchery and purchased much of the land that constitutes Hickory Run State Park.

Through the Harry C. Trexler Trust, a charitable trust Trexler set up prior to his death, his wealth provides an ongoing benefit to the people of Lehigh County.

Atty. Gross is Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Harry C. Trexler Trust. He is a partner in the law firm of Gross McGinley, LLP.

“He brings extensive scholarship and fascinating perspective to Harry C. Trexler’s life and legacy,” Garrera said of Gross.
