UPPER MILFORD TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS

Local residents came to ask the Upper Milford Township Supervisors for help in getting one of their neighbors to clean up his property on Allen Street in Upper Milford.

“How much stuff can one guy have?” resident Gerald L. Reinbold Jr. asked. “This is ridiculous!

“There is so much junk that it is unbelievable!” Reinbold, the spokesman for a group of about four neighbors who attended the March 21 meeting, said.

Reinbold was not stopping with junk complaints, but went on to talk about the chickens and rabbits.

“Yes, those are chickens in my yard,” he said showing a picture to the supervisors. “Having chickens on the property line is illegal.

“Property values are going down due to this issue.

“I will sue the township, [the owner of the offending property] and the state police. If not cleaned up within 30 days, I will be back with a [PA] State Representative and a lawyer.”

Neighbor Robert Miller thought the cars parked in connection with the offending property were a safety hazard for children.

“There’s nothing the kids can do to see down the road.”

The supervisors seemed to agree there is a problem.

“The township has dropped the ball. This problem has been around for many years,” Supervisor Robert Sentner said. “Something has to be done.”

“I’m sorry this has gone on so long,” Supervisor Joyce Moore said.

“The township cannot issue tickets,” offered legal counsel Marc Fisher.

In other business, supervisors authorized $50,000 for work on the playground equipment at Jasper Park on Vera Cruz Road.
