Whitehall Township Public Library: Space rocks program is set for April 3 at Whitehall library

Jolie Chylack, with Lehigh County Conservation District, will present the Buckets Full of Nature: Space Rocks program 1 p.m. April 3. Explore the mysterious rocks that travel through outer space.

After reading stories, creating art projects and experimenting, children will go home ready to “read” the night sky in a whole new way.

Join us for National Library Week programs 6:30 p.m. April 8.

There will be a Battle of the Books with Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group. Watch three local authors pit their works against each other in a competition where the audience will be the judge and decide who reigns supreme. Authors will close the event with a question-and-answer session and book signing.

There will be time to talk with the authors after the event.

***

Adult bingo will be held 6:30 p.m. April 9.

Anyone 18 years old or older is invited to join this book-oriented game. There will be prizes.

The event is free, and you might learn a little bit more about books or our library!

***

There will be an introductory session for the library’s new database, Fold3, set for 2 p.m. April 10.

Fold3 explores military records to help you discover more about your family’s military past or about the past in general.

In this class, we’ll mostly focus on the American Revolution and World War II. If there is time, we might cover other wars and other topics, such as the fire at the National Archives, which affected World War II records and the best chances for records recovery.

If you cannot attend, see Jim or Patty about information on this database.

***

Mark your calendar for 10 a.m. April 13 and 6:30 p.m. April 18 for the return of a popular program on how to sell your items on eBay.

Patty Vahey, library director, will present the basics of eBay use so that you can learn how to list your items, ship them and get paid.

There will also be handouts at the front desk.
