Coplay: Garden club to meet March 28
Coplay Garden Club will hold a meeting 6 p.m. March 28 in the social hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St.
The club will then head to North Catasauqua approximately 6:30 p.m. for a field trip at the Hickory Grove Greenhouses, 1096 Milton St.

Commitment to Family & Community is closing out the month with bingo and more March 29 at the hall, 165 Cherry St.
Doors open 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins 7 p.m.
There will be a Longaberger purse bingo, Chinese auction, basket bingo and bake sale.
The kitchen will be open.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is sponsoring The Shroud Encounter starting 7 p.m. March 30.
International expert Russ Breault will speak about the Shroud of Turin. There will be exhibits, including a life-size replica of the Shroud of Turin.
The public is invited.
There is a fee; children under 18 attend for free.

Get ready for Coplay Borough’s 150th anniversary celebration!
The festivities begin with a gala dinner April 6 at the American Club of Coplay pavilion, 300 Cherry St. The event starts 3 p.m. with the opening of a time capsule buried at the veterans memorial on Chestnut Street. Cocktail hour begins 4 p.m., and dinner will be served 5 p.m.
There will be featured speakers starting 6 p.m. The night will continue with music by A Few Good Men until 10 p.m. The special guest of honor and main speaker will be Lt. Gov. John Fetterman.
The anniversary parade is scheduled for May 18 and will start 1 p.m. at the corner of Ninth and Chestnut streets. Included in the parade will be the Whitehall Marching Zephyr Band and Freedom High School marching band, Bethlehem.
There will be a community festival June 15 at Samuel Balliet Stadium, 131 N. Eighth St. The fun begins 10 a.m. and will feature bands, family activities, food and fireworks.
