Historian and engineer Peter Kern presents a lecture, “Fly Me to the Moon … The Events Leading to the Historic 1969 voyage of Apollo 11,” 1 p.m. March 23, Lehigh County Historical Society’s Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown.
Fifty years ago this summer, the United States made world history when the Apollo 11 astronauts became the first humans to set foot on the moon.
Kern will discuss the U.S. Space Program, events leading to the first moon landing and the importance of those events.
