“Anything Goes” cruises to the stage, 7 p.m. March 21, 22, 23, and 2 p.m. March 24, auditorium, Catasauqua High School, 2500 W. Bullshead Road, Northampton.

“Anything Goes” is about the misadventures of Billy Crocker, a stowaway aboard an ocean liner who falls in love with American debutante Hope Harcourt. Cocker is aided by gangster Moonface Martin and nightclub singer Reno Sweeney in his pursuit of the heiress who is engaged to stuffy Englishman Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.

“Catasauqua High School is proudly presenting the 1962 revival of ‘Anything Goes.’ So, pack your bags, pull up a deck chair and sail away with us to merry ole’ England on the SS American for a rollicking great time,” says Catasauqua production director Brenda McGuire.

McGuire is assisted by choreographer and assistant director Kerry McGuire, assistant choreographer Jessica Englert, and music director Rob Arnold.

With music and lyrics by Cole Porter, the show was written by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse and revised by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The musical comedy debuted on Broadway in 1934.

The 1987 Broadway revival received 10 Tony Award nominations, winning three Tonys. The 2011 Broadway revival received nine Tony Award nominations, winning three Tonys.

“Anything Goes,” “You’re the Top” and “I Get a Kick Out of You” are among the featured songs.
