Upper Milford Township Supervisors closed the major firefighting fund which had been setting unused and drawing interest. They divided the $28,999.77 balance between the two Upper Milford Township fire companies, the Vera Cruz Fire Company and the Western District Fire Company.

Vera Cruz Fire Company officers, Emily Fair and Jason Tapler, attended the meeting.

In other business, Emmaus Public Library representative Lisa Martin reported the second annual Books and Beer Fundraiser will be 6-8 p.m. March 20 at Yergey’s Brewery and Triple Sun Distillery on Bank Street, Emmaus.

The commissioners approved disbursements for Feb. 26 ($31,818.34) and March 7 ($140.597.14).
