Roman enters race for district judge seat

Andy Roman has announced his candidacy for magisterial district judge in Whitehall’s District 31-1-07.

Roman has been circulating petitions to cross-file on both the Republican and Democrat ballots.

Roman, elected as Whitehall constable in 2015, has indicated his desire to fulfill the magistrate office responsibilities.

“I worked with (the late) Bob Halal and would like to continue his work of serving the residents of Whitehall and Coplay in a professional manner that would continue to bring honor to this most important office,” Roman said.

Once known as the justice of the peace, the magistrate’s role is vital in maintaining an orderly community, he said.

Roman said he has a record of serving his community and country. He served as president of the Whitehall-Coplay School Board and as a Lehigh County commissioner. He is a 20-year Air Force veteran as a 16th special operations squadron member. His motto is “hire a vet.”

Roman said he has broad experience in government, academia and business and is currently a fully licensed financial services professional. He has no occupational bias and is eager to bring justice and compassion to the role of magistrate in the district, he added.

Roman, a graduate of Whitehall High School, has been married to his wife, Joan, for 39 years. They have four grown children and 13 grandchildren.
